Hot Crops & Ducklings first swim

HOT Crops are here!  Cinco de Mayo!

As of May 5th, 2013 with a high of 85 today, it feels like July 5th .. but! that's two months away.  We have an excellent selection of tomatoes, peppers and eggplants along with the first round of cucurbits and many seeds for corn, beans, cucumbers, zucchini, winter squash, lettuce, all your root vegetables and everything else.  Along with an amazing amount of tantalizing veggie, herb and flower starts for your garden.  Just remember it's still early for some crops.  It could stay summery like this or it could hail, frost.. rain for three weeks... just keep an eye on the weather and protect tender crops as needed.  We stock floating row cover and greenhouse plastic by the foot or roll and custom cut 9 gauge wire if you'd like to make a hoop-house or cloche.  Our plants mainly arrive Tuesdays and Fridays each week.

We have organic ducklings available and this morning was their first swim.  We were caught up watching them, so here is a photo post-swim getting a little warm up.  5 Khaki Campbells, 3 Fawn & White Runners, 5 Cayugas and 5 Welsh Harlequins - small scale, out of state family hatchery (born 5/1/13)
