"It's like she has some underground railroad for chickens..."

In today's Wall Street Journal:

Some City Folk Are Mad as Wet Hens When Chickens Come Home to Roost

Barbara Palermo from Salem's Chickens in the Yard group sent the article and is interviewed in the video (photo). Please write a positive comment on the article site in support of urban chicken keeping if you'd like to help. You can also write to Salem's City Councilors. There are lots of big and little cities across the country that allow chickens. You can find specific regulations on The City Chicken website, email Katy Skinner if you know of updates.

The underground railroad for humans was an awesome movement, it's hard to believe someone criticized a chicken keeper that way!? The simple
right to keep hens is easy to take for granted, yet facing a battle of ideas strange enough to fascinate the Wall Street Journal... Yay for all the hen-loving people of Salem - we support you!!
